Q. What is Micad Pro?
A. Micad Pro is our new platform which brings all Micad products such as IPR, Micad FM, Soft FM, ZetaSafe and Micad Audit into a single platform where you can switch seamlessly between applications. Micad Pro brings new functions and features, such as a new reporting engine and analytics centre that will enable users to transform complex estate data into actionable insights, enabling smarter, more sustainable decision-making for our clients.
Q. Is there a cost for the upgrade?
A. No, the upgrade to Micad Pro is covered by your licensing fee. This will include access to the new report engine, central administration functions and analytics centre (excluding Power BI). The new RUM application will use a different costing model and details will be provided to those customers in advance.
Q. How long will the upgrade take and will there be any downtime for my existing application?
A. The upgrade will take up to 1 hour and existing applications will be down during the upgrade.
Q. Will all data be transferred and remain the same in the new system?
A. Yes, all data will be transferred and reside the same in Micad Pro.
Q. Do I need to change my username and password?
A. No, they will be set the same in Micad Pro. You will have the option of changing them once in the new application.
Q. Will all the same licensing provisions be carried over where I have more than one Micad application?
A. Yes, the licensing provision will remain the same in Micad Pro and you will see all the products you are licensed for based on permissions set by the administrator.
Q. If I am on Portals 1 or 2 will I be upgraded to Portals Pro automatically?
A. Yes, Portal 1 and 2 will not be compatible with Micad Pro, so you will be updated to the new version as part of the Micad Pro platform.
Q. Do I need to do anything to ensure access to contractors who might be registered with the system?
A. You will need to advise them of the change and provide them details of the new URL for Micad Pro, although redirects will be in place and their access will be unchanged, as with all user accounts.
Q. Where can I find what changes have been made to IPR & Portals?
A. These can be found in the release notes, which can be accessed by clicking on ‘About’ at the top right of the software.
Q. Does IPR 3.9 on the Pro Platform still use IP address whitelisting?
A. Yes, all existing rules will be maintained. If there are any access issues please contact our support desk at https://www.micadsoftware.com/how-to-log-a-ticket/
Q. How do I set up 2FA or SSO on Micad Pro?
A. Please contact our Support team and they will advise, SSO may require input from your IT department. Details are in the IPR3.9 release notes: https://micad.zendesk.com/hc/en-gb/categories/10154662296349-Micad-IPR
Q. What do I do if my organisation has an existing API or SQL link in place on one or more of my Micad applications?
A. This will be unchanged but we would advise you to check that this is working post-migration.
Q. Who do I contact after the upgrade if I spot anything wrong or have any questions?
A. Shortly after your upgrade, your account manager will contact you to arrange a handover meeting of the new application to explain some of the key features and benefits. If, in the meantime, you have any ‘how to’ queries, you can contact Support in the normal way.
Q. Will I need training to operate and navigate Micad Pro?
A. Micad Pro has been designed to be as user-friendly as possible so users of existing applications will have no issues navigating the applications on the platform they are familiar with. Some administrators and users of the system may want additional training on the new administration, new reports and analytic functions which can be requested, although the release notes guide the new features for these applications.
Q. How will future upgrades be managed?
A. Once you are on Micad Pro, we will upgrade the software faster and more regularly with minimal impact. Of course, we will give you prior notifications.
